Travis Barker had ‘big part’ in Kourtney Kardashian’s engagement ring design
From punk rock to designing the perfect rock.
Before popping the question on Sunday night, Travis Barker collaborated with celebrity jeweler Lorraine Schwartz to create a one-of-a-kind engagement ring for Kourtney Kardashian.
“It’s a flawless, beautifully cut diamond stone,” Schwartz, told People of the special sparkler, which Barker, 45, presented to Kardashian, 42, during a romantic beach proposal in Montecito, Calif.
“I worked on it with Travis and he was a really big part of it,” she continued.
“He was really hands-on in the whole making of it. It’s gorgeous and they’re happy.”
Mike Fried, CEO of The Diamond Pro, told Page Six Style that the reality star’s ring, “looks to be larger than 15 carats in a pavé or hidden halo setting,” valuing the dazzling design at $1 million.
The Poosh founder isn’t the first Kardashian to have a Schwartz-designed sparkler on her left hand; sister Kim Kardashian’s engagement ring from Kris Humphries and her two rings from Kanye West were all made by the Hollywood-loved jeweler.
In addition to counting Meghan Markle, Billy Porter and Blake Lively as clients, Schwartz has also created rings for other high-profile proposals, including Beyoncé’s reportedly $5 million emerald-cut engagement ring from Jay-Z.
As for Barker and Kardashian, the pair seem to be keeping up their track record of loved-up outings. The couple was spotted making out on train tracks the morning after their engagement, with Kardashian rocking a hoodie from her fiancé’s record label, DTA Records.
It’s not the first time she’s worn the studded style, and she and the Blink-182 drummer are both known to rock daring date-night looks and seemingly coordinated casual wear.
For future appearances, her dazzling diamond is sure to make the perfect accessory.
